Rehearsals are well on their way for Americans in Italy. This is the same program we will perform in Monforte d'Alba, on our first concert in Piemonte region. Americans in Italy features brand new works by American composers Jennifer Jolley, Elliott Miles McKinley, Peter Farmer and Luke Dahn, all faculty members of the 2018 edition of the Alba Music Festival Composition Program in Alba, Italy. SOLI will represent San Antonio at the festival as its Ensemble-in-Residence between May 26 and June 4, 2018. During the Alba Music Festival Composition Program, the Ensemble will premiere and record 15 new works, written specifically for the ensemble by Festival Fellows, and feature some of those Fellows on their 2018-19, 25th Anniversary Season in San Antonio.
SOLI will also present additional concerts in San Remo, Baiardo, Busca, and Alba, performing some of the exceptional chamber music America has to offer for Italian audiences. Americans in Italywill also feature a new work by the 2017 Alba Music Festival Alumni Competition winnerJesse Edwards.
